Annual Fee

Associate Membership

Associate Membership is a category of membership open to individuals who are engaged in, connected to, or transitioning into the pharmacy profession but who do not qualify for full membership of the Society. This category is intended to accommodate intern pharmacists, selected related professionals, and pharmacy professionals registered outside Zambia, whether or not they are currently practicing within the country.

Requirements:
  • An individual shall be eligible for Associate Membership if they fall within any of the following categories
  • Intern Pharmacists who are duly registered with the statutory body responsible for pharmacy registration in Zambia
  • Other related professionals whose background, qualifications, or professional role is relevant to the objectives of the Society and who are approved by the Council
  • Pharmacists or Pharmacy Technologists who are registered in another country and intend to practice pharmacy in Zambia
  • Pharmacists who are registered in another country but are not practicing pharmacy in Zambia.
Benefits:
  • Associate Members may attend meetings of the Society and enjoy such privileges and benefits as may be prescribed by the Society from time to time. However, Associate Members shall not have the right to vote or to hold elective office within the Society.

Student Membership

Student Membership is a category of membership open to individuals who are formally enrolled in recognized institutions and are pursuing academic qualifications in pharmacy or related disciplines. This category is intended to engage students early in the profession and to promote professional development, ethical conduct, and participation in the activities of the Society.

Requirements:
  • An individual shall be eligible for Student Membership if they meet any of the following criteria
  • A student reading for a Bachelor’s degree or a related degree in pharmacy at a recognized College or University
  • A student reading for a Diploma in pharmacy or a related discipline at a recognized College or University.
Benefits:
  • Student Members may attend meetings of the Society and enjoy such privileges and benefits as may be prescribed by the Society from time to time. However, Student Members shall not have the right to vote or to hold elective office within the Society.

Annual Fee

Life Membership

Life Membership is a special category of membership reserved for distinguished members of the Society who have rendered exceptional and meritorious service to the pharmacy profession and to the country. It represents the highest mark of esteem that the Society may confer and is intended to recognise lifetime contribution, leadership, and impact.

Requirements:
  • A person shall be eligible for election as a Life Member if they meet all of the following criteria
  • The individual is an active member of the Society whom the Society wishes to honour
  • The individual is nominated through a motivated motion by the Executive
  • The individual is elected as a Life Member at an Annual General Meeting by a resolution supported by a three-fourths majority of members entitled to vote and voting in person
  • The individual has rendered special and distinguished service to the country and to the pharmacy profession.
Benefits:
  • Life Members may attend meetings of the Society and enjoy all the privileges of membership, including the right to vote. However, Life Members shall not be eligible to stand for elective office within the Society.

Annual Fee

Honorary Membership

Honorary Membership is a special category of membership conferred at the discretion of the Annual General Meeting upon individuals who have rendered distinguished service to the Society or to the pharmacy profession. This category is intended to recognise outstanding contribution and support to the objectives and values of the Society.

Requirements:
  • A person shall be eligible for Honorary Membership if they meet all of the following conditions
  • The individual has rendered distinguished service to the Society or to the pharmacy profession
  • The individual is elected as an Honorary Member at an Annual General Meeting by a resolution supported by a two-thirds majority of members entitled to vote and voting
  • The conferment of Honorary Membership is subject to the discretion and approval of the Annual General Meeting.
Benefits:
  • Honorary Members may attend and participate in meetings of the Society and enjoy such privileges as may be determined by the Society from time to time. However, Honorary Members shall not have the right to vote or to hold elective office within the Society.
