UPDATE ON PSZ COURTESY CALL ON ZAMRA DIRECTOR-GENERAL

The Pharmaceutical Society of Zambia Executive Committee this morning, 2 September 2026, paid a courtesy call on the Director-General of the Zambia Medicines Regulatory Authority. The engagement provided an opportunity for the newly elected PSZ leadership to formally introduce itself and discuss matters of mutual interest, including internship placements and preceptor training, continuing professional development, pharmacovigilance, regulatory developments and reforms, local pharmaceutical manufacturing, access to quality-assured medicines, employment opportunities, and the continued strengthening of professional standards and institutional collaboration. The parties also explored opportunities for closer and more structured cooperation between PSZ and ZAMRA in areas that support the development of the profession, a responsive regulatory environment, the growth of the pharmaceutical industry and the advancement of public health in Zambia. PSZ appreciates the Director-General and ZAMRA management for the warm reception and constructive engagement. The Society looks forward to continued collaboration for the benefit of the profession, pharmaceutical industry and the people of Zambia.
